Help Fund Starving Artist's Future

My dream, since childhood, has been to be an artist, animator, and game developer. While on the road to making those dreams a reality, never losing sight of my goal, finances and unfortold hiccups have kept me from moving at the pace needed for my true sucess. In recent years, especially after the recession of 2008, I've had to relocate from city to city, was in and out of college courses, failing or dropping several of those classes because of family crises or my inability to keep up with the high cost of art supplies.

I was "freed" from my last job, March of 2014, and have been searching for viable work. I have a "condition" called albinism, where I'm considered legally blind, though I'm capable of various types of work. Supplemental Security Income is a benifit that I receive because of that condition, but it does little to keep me afloat, let alone assist with furthering my art career. I don't choose to continue to narrowly slide by every month any longer. It is a "flight or die" moment for me now, as I know that returning to college is the smartest thing I can do at my age, 27. I need to further develop my skills within a reputable school of art. I am an artist. This is the field that will allow me to prosper.
Presently, a great challenge for me is an important medium for all my artistic endeavours, my computer. I've been able to squeeze as much life out of the thing as I could for some years now, but I'm afraid it's just about ready to die (You put up a good fight, little buddy). In additon to art I create digital music, and have been called upon for various projects, but these commissions have been affected by my lousy computer as well. I haven't the funds to buy a new computer. If I want to work on art and music freely, and work through college and beyond, I'm going to need a new computer. And a high-end one, considering the demanding programmes I work in. While I will also use the computer for personal activities, I want it to be a production computer, and therefore I will be building it myself. This will enable me to put in all of the components I need rather than settle for standard consumer specs.

Various examples of my music:
(My style is often non-traditional)
1 (Lighthearted electro)
2 (Inspired by horror movies)
3
(Dreamy song with a beat)

In addition, my Wacom Intuos 2 (digital art tablet), which I've had for 5 years now, is also malfunctioning, and I'm worried it might stop working on me any day. A Surface Pro 3, better than a Wacom tablet, would help me further achieve my goals, as it would allow me to work on art freely. Working directly on the screen, without having to depend on my immobile computer monitor, means I wouldn't have to strain my eyes due to my low-vision. It would allow me to be mobile while working, as well. It feels a lot better than my current Intuos 2, seeing my pen connect directly to my pen strokes. It's a perfect balance between traditional art and digital art, a balance that works great for me.

Usually I try to fix my own problems, not often requesting help or letting on that I'm struggling. I keep my business to myself and try not to be a burden to others. However, as a last ditch effort in putting my life on track, I've decided to put my pride aside and see if others would assist me at getting a new computer and a Surface Pro 3. Although college funding is my greatest need, it will come with time and scholarships. What I need now is the right technology to help me create a great portfolio, win some scholarships, take on more commission work so my lifestyle is less burdened, and pave a way to the art school of my choice.

If you are unable to contribute to my cause, I ask that you lend me a hand by "Liking" and sharing this across your social networks. You would be doing me a great service!
