Our Nepali Friends need help

Many thanks for having a look at this page.

Some of you know my love for this wonderful country, Nepal. 
A tourist is said to come to Nepal for a trekking, first, and to come back for it's people

It is true!

My name is Thierry Herman. I come from Belgium. For two years I have been sharing my time between England, where I work as a personnal assistant for a tetraplegique person, and travelling in India and Nepal.

When I went in this country it was first to renew my Indian visa.
I did not know yet that this forthnight formality would change my life forever. 
A day, sitting in the street, a young person invited me in his restaurant where he used to work as a waiter. First, I declined pretty roughly... Someday, traveling alone, you might not be in a good mood... talk about myself. Then a small voice told me to turn back and... he was still there waving at me with a large and bright smile...
So I came back...
One week after, I was amoung his family in his village in the middle of the mountain near Gorkha.

I was adopted by Iswor's Family :

This 26 april 2015 I finally could talk with Iswor. His story about his last 24h left me without words. He spent day and night digging in the rubbles. Most of the time to find death bodies. When he was lucky to find someone alive he had to left him in the street in front of an overwhelmed hospital. We could not speak too much because without power in the country he had to safe his phone battery.

But enough time to tell me that his family in the village was safe.

The villagers have set up an emergency camp. They have estimated their houses unsafe or too damaged.

Inside their house, it is totally damaged and unsafe. The raining season is coming and might not help.

Iswor's Village is barely reachable under normal circumstances. 
Iswor himslef lives in KTM. Under normal circumstances he goes to college in the morning and works as a waiter at night. His monthly salary was about two days of a middle range europeen salary.  Currently, he cannot work anymore.

They need help.

Through this website I can assure you that every penny you will donate (except "gofundme" fees which will be also donated to Nepal, see gofundme blog at the top of this page) will arrive in his own hands through "Smallworldfs Transfer" (no transfer fee for Nepal)

In case there was too much money for this goal or the worse for him or his family may occur and I was unable to contact them, I undertake to pay back all your donations to an official local charity business in Nepal.

Usually, the way to go in his village from KTM to the bus stop, main road is about 3 hours.  From the Bus stop main road to his village it's about 4 hours walk (for me) through the mountain.

Merci beaucoup de prendre de votre temps sur cette page.
Certains d'entre vous connaissent mon amour pour ce merveilleux pays, le Népal.
Il est dit que le touriste y va pour la première fois pour le trekking et revient ensuite pour la chaleur humaine de son peuple.

C'est vrai!

Mon nom est Thierry Herman. Je suis originaire de Belgique. Voila deux années que je partage mon temps entre l'Angleterre, où je travaille comme assistant personnel pour une personne tétraplégique, et le voyage en Inde et au Népal.

Ma première visite au Nepal ne devait être qu'une formalité, le temps de renouveler mon visa pour l'Inde. Je ne savais pas encore que les quinze jours prévu dans ce pays allaient changer ma vie à jamais.

Un jour, assis dans la rue, une jeune personne m'invita dans son restaurant où il travaillait comme serveur. J'ai d'abord refusé plutôt sèchement... Parfois le voyage en solo est éprouvant et vous fait réagir bizarrement. Mais une petite voix me chuchota de rebrousser chemin. Il était toujours là , agitant sa main avec un grand et lumineux sourire ...

Une semaine après, j'étais parmi sa famille dans son village au milieu de la montagne près de Gorkha.

Ce jour là, je fut adopté par la famille d'Iswor...

Mais je ne suis pas ici pour parler de moi:

Ce 26 avril 2015 J'ai enfin pu parler avec Iswor. Son récit à propos de ces dernieres 24h m'a laissé sans mots. Il a passé la journée et la nuit à creuser dans les décombres de Baktapur, ktm centre. La plupart du temps pour trouver des corps sans vie.  Quand il avait la chance de trouver quelqu'un de vivant il n'avait d'autres choix que de le laisser dans la rue en face d'un hôpital débordé. N'ayant plus d'électricité, nous avons du écourter notre conversation pour préserver sa batterie de téléphone.

Mais assez de temps pour me dire que sa famille dans son village était toujours en vie.

Le Village d'Iswor est à peine accessible dans des circonstances normales. 
Iswor vit à KTM. Dans des circonstances normales, il va à l'université le matin et travaille comme seveur jusqu'à tard le soir. Son salaire mensuel était d'environ l'équivalant de deux jours d'un salaire europeen moyen.

En ce moment, il ne sait plus travailler

Ils ont besoin d'aide.

Il y a peine quelques mois, Iswor à baktapur, sur un des temples qui n'est que décombres maintenant.  Baktapur était un lieu de prières et de rencontres très important pour les Nepalais.
