*RAISING MONEY TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR TERMINALLY ILL RELATIVE*

To be honest, this cause runs far deeper than donations for an electric wheel chair. This "dollar and/or a share" that we are requesting from each of you, is more about the, "WHY," of it all.
Why is this man in such need of a motorized wheelchair?
What purpose will it serve in his life?
You do deserve to know, after all, if we are going to ask you to participate. WHY is your contribution to this fundraiser SO valuable? Because it will improve the quality, and possibly the *quantity* of life, for a man who may not have much time left.
At this stage of his disease, even though he has an undetermined amount of time left, he can barely walk from one room to the next without losing his breath, making what little time he has feel much like torture.
When a person cannot breathe, it starts a vicious cycle, that turns their own body into a prison. Their muscle tone and strength begins to waste away, causing even greater difficulty in accomplishing simple, every day tasks. This makes their body have to work even harder, requiring more oxygen, and further discouraging a person to even get out of bed ... at any point. This, of course, causes a person's muscles to even further deteriorate. Eventually, any walking at all becomes more dangerous each day. Falling, due to weakness in the legs/balance issues, is all too common, among other side effects of the immobility. Possibility of blood clots and frequently bouts of pneumonia, etc... Again, most of this can be solved with mechanisms that aid in mobility. For people like Stuart, when they cannot afford things like their medication, or things that aid in mobility, (such as a motorized wheelchair) the negative experiences begin to greatly outweigh the positive ones. This is not because there are no longer activities that bring them joy, but because there is so much work involved that it seems impossible. For people like Stuart, accomplishing the most simple tasks, such as getting dressed in the morning, is enough of a challenge that they do not dare even entertain the thought of anything beyond the absolutely necessary things. Even the thought of attending a family function, a grandchild's birthday party ... or even a short stroll in the sun, becomes too much to bear.
THE SOLUTION TO MANY OF THESE HARDSHIPS IS A MOTORIZED WHEELCHAIR, WHICH WE CAN ALL HELP HIM ACQUIRE WITH JUST ONE OR TWO DOLLARS, AND/OR - SHARING THIS ON A SOCIAL MEDIA PAGE (anywhere else you can share it would be great) I cannot stress enough how the value of sharing this is just as, if not MORE important, than any monetary contribution. The old saying, "many hands make light work," is as true here as it is anywhere.
Thank you in advance for your time, your consideration, and any effort you contribute to this cause. Below, are some of Stuart Milligan's own words describing what he battles with each day.
"Hello everyone. ..I do need some help that I cant seem to get any other way. Of course I have prayed as I have been doing for some time now. Okay here's the problems.... I have been diagnosed by a few too many doctors...I have C.O.P.D., asthma, severe emphysema, hardening of my arteries, my neck is unstable, both legs are in very bad shape, my back has seven discs with barely anything left between them. I want surgery, but they will not do it because of my lungs. I am on 3% oxygen 24/7 I'm actually unable to go out and live. I'm in my home all the time except for one day a month ... and that's to go to the doctors. My medications are over 200.00 a month and that's with my insurance. You could say ...well I can say why am i still here ?? Cause all I'm doing is suffering....killing myself to live it feels like. I have given it all to Christ. I'm really tired of being and not able to do what I want to do...all I want is to go grocery shopping, go out for to get some sun. I do want to thank my angel Sarah Michelle Milligan for being the one and only person who has found it in her heart to do something about my situation. She is the angel that I have prayed and prayed for. So may God in heaven above hold her and reward her for doing this. She must have been sent by God..... Thank you all !!! And God bless you all too. THANK YOU."
I'd like to end by assuring you all that once the funds are raised for the Elec. Wheelchair, any overage will go towards helping Stuart with his monthly medications. I am keeping none of it and none of it will be spent frivolously.
