Europeans championships in Russia!

Donation protected
Ashleigh Harris and Daniel Hewitt, Both members of budokan wales karate club at Bungie’s gym in fforestfach. We have recently been selected to represent Wales in the European Championships out in Russia. This tournment is the most prestigious tournament in the whole of Europe and it gives us huge pride to have been deemed good enough to represent our country in this competition.

We are both currently the number 1 in wales for our age, dan being under 18’s and ashleigh being under 21’s. we are multiple time WKGB Welsh National and International Champions as well as active members of the Welsh National Karate Team.

We both started karate over 10 years ago. During our time as competative Karate fighters we have worked our way up the ranks to gain firm positions as a the number one representative for our country in our fighting weight. Both of us we be fighting at -68 kilograms.

Why we asking for your support:

As Welsh representatives within an elite level competition, we are effectivly self funded athletes.

After working to gain our positions on the Welsh team, We are personally left with the cost of the flights, accomodation, transfers and entry fees from each tournement.

Ashleigh works as a support worker while studying a health and social care degree and Daniel is in full time education, still at school and all of this is along side fitting in as much training as possible to make sure we areat the highest level of fitness and preparation for these elite level tournmenets.

To compete in this tournement it's going to cost us a maximum of £1200 each without any extras and spending money and we would be extremly greatful for your help in raising the money to get me to Russia.

If we are able to raise, £1500 this will help contribute to the expenses of our flights, our accommodation, and our tournement entry fee. It will also support us during our time of training for this tournmenet, by releaving us of the pressure of working extra shifts, and allowing us to use that tim to train for the competition ahead.

Why we would be greatful for your support:

Now that Karate has oficially been introduced to the Olympic games, there are a small margin of British Karate competitiors that stand a chance of being selcted for Karate's first ever Team GB in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. We aim to be one of them.

With your help, we will be able to achieve higher status and rankings within the european and world Karate circuit by attending the appropriate tournements, such as this years european championships in Russia.

By helping us get to Russia to compete in this tournament you're providing us with an opportunity to become one step closer of becoming an a member of Team GB and an Olympian and achievening our dreams.

Thank you.

Keep up to date with our training preperation for Russia:
