HELP SAVE TIGGERR'S EYE!

Tiggerrr was rescued from a High Kill shelter when he was on the next day's "To Be Killed" list.  I didn't want him to be killed because he was at a busy shelter that prefers to kill cats than to find homes for them! He was there because his owner surrendered him - after having him for 13 years!? He had an Upper Respiratory Infection when he left the shelter, and then he developed conjunctivitis. His eye became swollen closed.  When it began to open, it looked so bad that I took him to an emergency vet in the middle of the night. (See photo) That vet said he thought the eye would have to be removed. I was devastated and couldn't believe it. I told the vet I would want to see a Veterinary Ophthalmologist before I did that - so he referred me to one.  I took Tiggerrr to the Opthalmologist the next day and she said he had a deep, melting corneal wound covering the whole cornea and that there were weak spots in the cornea. She prescribed some medicine and we were going to watch and see how he healed - but she said there was a chance the eye may need to be removed.  We've been working with the DR, trying to save his eye and we've been through a lot. In spite of our efforts the eye developed glaucoma and now if we want to try to save his eye, she needs to do some surgery called a conjunctival graft and an Iridectomy which will cost about $1,135.
This is the LAST CHANCE to save his eye! But I don't have $1,135.  As a matter of a fact, I lost my job right after I rescued him (Murphy's Law!) and I've spent at least $1,300 between the emergency room and Vet Ophthalmologist, so far.
Right now, as hard as it is, I am asking for YOUR help in order to do this eye surgery for Tiggerrr.
PLEASE HELP ME TO SAVE HIS EYE!
