~Hi my name is Toni, I am the daughter of the strongest woman you will ever meet. Unfortunately my mom has had much of her strength and security stripped from her. On 3/6/14 in White Center, Washington she was catching a bus coming home, when she was ABDUCTED, RAPED, BRUTALLY BEATEN, ROBBED, TORMENTED, AND LEFT NAKED FOR DEAD.
~I am hoping I can raise the funds for her to be able purchase a vehicle. I want my mother to get the medical help and therapy she needs and wants so she can reclaim her life. I don't ever want her to have to catch a bus again or have to rely on others if she does not wish to.
-Did I mention my mother is a 58YR old Grandmother?
-Her attacker a young 24 year old male. He approached her kindly, with manners, asking for a smoke. A few moments later he offered her money for sex… She declined POLITELY. She turned to walk away and behind her he came. When he was through with the attack, my mother was left for dead. On 11/14/14 he received a sentence of 171 months in prison.
~Before the attack, my mom was a Live-in Resident Manager at an adult family home. She cared for elderly and developmentally disabled adults for many years. My mom has devoted her life to caring for others. Now she has disabilities of her own. She can no longer live her life or work in service of others. At this point she can't work at all. She has a lot of emotion work and surgeries to do 1st.
~It saddens me that I cannot offer her more. All I can do is ask for the kindness of others. As it stands now a stranger did something TO my mother, I hope that I can say “Look Mom, look what strangers did FOR you.”
