Hands on for Leo

Leo, our beautiful boy, was born on 10th September 2014 and in January 2015 we discovered a blood clot in his nappy. After numerous investigations we were told the devastating news that our precious boy had an extremely rare and aggressive cancer. He was just 4 months old.
Unfortunately despite surgery and chemotherapy Leo requires proton therapy (specialist radiotherapy) to give him the best possible chance of curing him. As yet proton therapy is not available in this country so we have to go to the USA this summer for 10 weeks. Six weeks of treatment, 30 sessions in total, each session requiring a general anaesthetic to ensure Leo remains still enough to receive the treatment safely.
This fundraising campaign is focused on supporting Leo to have his family with him during his treatment in the USA. Although Leo’s treatment will be covered by the NHS, we will have to fund our day to day expenses in a foreign country whilst also keeping things going at home.
