College Fund for Dillon and Braedon

Donation protected
Many have been asking about contributing flowers in honor of Brian.  Our funeral director told me that most people are setting up memorial funds, as a practical alternative, for people to contribute to in lieu of flowers. We have established this as a college savings fund for Dillon and Braedon.

On November 6, 2014, Brian died of complications at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD while participating in a clinical trial. In May 2013, Brian was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme grade IV, the most aggressive form of brain cancer. He fought courageously for 18 months, striving to live longer for his family, whom he absolutely adored. Brian was a wonderful person: a beloved husband of 15 years to Tiffany Stone; amazing father to Dillon and Braedon Stone (11 and eight years old); devoted son of Attilio and Elizabeth Stone; loving brother to three sisters: Michele Stone, Marian Stone Ashley and husband (James), and Kathleen Stone Zuniga and husband,(Edgar); and proud uncle to Jason, John and James Ashley and Matthew Zuniga.

Brian graduated from the University of Maryland's School of Architecture in 1990. He was the lead architectural designer/project manager with the Alexander Group in Rockville, MD for almost a decade. In 2008, he established his own company, Cornerstone Partners Design Build in Rockville, MD, which he successfully maintained until his death. He was among the first designers in Maryland to be invited to test and receive the prestigious LEED AP certification. He was very well respected among his peers in the design/build industry.

Brian's services will be held on Thursday, November 13 at Saint Michael the Archangel Church, 805 Wayne Ave., Silver Spring, MD. The viewing will begin at 9 a.m. and the Mass will begin at 10 a.m. The interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, MD. The repast will then follow at the Oak Room, 17921 Brooke Rd., Sandy Spring, MD.
