About this project

The cafe's aim is simple. It will provide a completely sophisticated, sensual, yet casual dining and/or coffeehouse experience for the many Miamians’ and visitors who frequent the city's casual dining spots and entertainment venues. It will be an affordable venture for patrons to come enjoy a great cup of coffee and breakfast sandwiches on their morning commute to work and a nice glass of wine and craft beer well into the evening, one that will encourage them to return on many occasions. The Groovin’ Bean will also provide free Wi-Fi for its patrons and local residents to come and relax, read a good magazine, complete a homework assignment, or just browse the internet. This will be a well needed feature for the Overtown residents who oftentimes do not have internet access in their own homes. The menu will feature tapas, salads, soups, sandwiches and other light meals that is of the type that is frequently out of the reach of the typical young professional...out of reach because time frequently prevents her/him from cooking hearty meals like those featured on our menu. Keeping with tradition of Overtown’s traditionally Bahamian residents, The Groovin’ Bean will also offer gourmet soul food that patrons will enjoy.

Risks and challenges

The construction process is an very unpredictable one. Therefore, we can be delayed with the permitting process for weeks on end. This is why we have made sure we have taken every precaution needed that will prevent these delays. Also, equipment and appliance failure can also be a headache. To tackle this, we have made sure we secured necessary insurance to help remedy these failures. We have covered all of our insurance to make the build-out process worry free.
