Grandma Sugar's Bucket List

Donation protected
It is still heartbreaking to write but as you know my mom Angela passed away on August 31, 2017.  I was lucky enough to be by her side the final days of her life.  The last conversation I had with her was about all the places she wanted to visit when she got better - Virginia to see family since she missed the last two years of our annual summer trip, Alabama to catch rolls at Lambert's and make a return visit to her favorite artist, and Tennessee to finally see Graceland and Nashville.  These were the places we talked about many times this past year as something to look forward to, something to encourage her to keep fighting when pain of the colitis got so bad she cried.

As I try to find a way to ease my pain, I know that I have to take the trips she wanted to take - her bucket list.  I would like to do these with the two girls that called her Grandma Sugar.   They have been through so much this year with the move from the only place they've ever known, the loss of their only pet three days after our move and now the passing of their first close family member and someone that they adored so much.  I want to make the trips that will carry out her wishes and create memories for Sydney and Ashley.  I want them to see the things she wanted to see.  I want them to smile again when they think of her.

I never thought of creating this page until someone suggested I set it up as a way for family and friends to help us with Grandma Sugar's Bucket List.   I can’t put a price on carrying out her wishes but was required by the site to list a goal.  We will be crossing off the first item on her list with a visit to Virginia in October for her celebration of life there.  We were hoping to fly up but Hurricane Irma paid us a visit and we'll have to pay for a portion of a new roof, yet another entry on my list of why 2017 has been the worst year ever.  We thank you for all of your support during this painful time and look forward to sharing our journey to honor and celebrate the funniest, strongest, most loving, beautiful person I will ever know.
