Cody Lloyd Finke
Jul 30, 1981 - Mar 25, 2018
Cody Finke passed away at the age of 36 on March 25, 2018 at Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, MN after a long, hard-fought battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), a form of brain cancer. Cody Finke was born on July 30, 1981 to Rick Finke and Deb (Ahlschlager) Gulbrandson in Sioux Falls, SD. Cody attended and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2000. He went on to attend vocational school at Mitchell Technical Institute where he earned his diploma in Powerline Construction and Maintenance. Cody worked for 1 year at East River Electric. In 2002 he began working for the City of Brewster, MN. Cody gave 15 years of service to the city before he was unable to work due to his illness. On July 8, 2006 Cody was united in marriage to Holli Perrine at Faith United Presbyterian Church in Brandon, SD. They made their home in Brewster, MN for 11 years before moving to Worthington. To this union there were three children, Kenley Jo, Kaden Dean, and Paxton John, who were the light of Cody’s life. Cody put his heart and soul into everything he did. He passed this love for life on to everyone he met. His contagious laugh touched many. Cody loved spending time doing almost anything outdoors; camping, snowmobiling, hunting, riding bicycles, motorcycle and ATV’s, and most importantly, spending time with his family. His family and friends will remember Cody as a strong, selfless, trusting protector. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Holli and three children, Kenley (7), Kaden (7), and Paxton (5) of Worthington, MN; parents Rick Finke of Baltic, SD and Deb (Dana) Gulbrandson of Sioux Falls, SD; sister Jamie Larson (Joey) and their children, Henry and Amelia; brother Travis Finke (Jessie); grandparents Lloyd and Elayne Finke of Slayton, MN; mother and father-in-law Larry and Peggy Perrine of Brandon, SD; sister-in-law Kristal Perrine (Adam) and their children, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marvin and Jean Ahlschlager.
