Hello my name is Lakeitha Marie Perry. In 2010 my hemoglogin level was a 3. For those that know that is extremely low. At the level of 8 you could be at risk of a stroke. I was admitted into the hospital where I received a blood transfusion. The next day I had a minor surgery called a DNC where they removed a fibroid tumor that was the size of a very large orange. Two days after that the pain continued which was abnormal so I went through more testing and they discovered that I had a pulmonary embolism in both of my lungs. For non medical terms that means bloodclots in the lung. After treating the bloodclots with a blood thinner for eight months the problem subsided but did not dissolve completely. In due time the symptoms returned. It became difficult to walk up stairs and even short distances are difficult. I need the assistance of a wheelchair to get around at times. The blood clots have been growing for three years unaware. Recently it has been diagnosed that the pulmonary embolisms have returned. This time it is accompanyed by pulmonary hypertension which is pressure in the lungs as well. Due to the pressure in my lungs my heart has been compromised. My heart has been enlarged on one side and has a hole in it. In a few short months I will be flying to San Diego California for a surgery to remove the bloodclots from my lungs. I am also having problems with my gall bladder which may have to be removed. I will be also having a historectomy to remove the fibroids out of my uterus. I am raising money that will cover any non paid medical expenses as well as aid that may be required as I undergo this journey. I am also in need of aid in transportation as well as lodging and misc for myself and my mother and husband who will be accompanying me for the surgery.
