Build Oregon's Fire Museum

Donation protected
The Oregon Fire Service Museum needs a museum building to bring together our extensive collection under 1 roof.  We need your help now.

Have you ever wondered what happened to all the beautiful old fire trucks, the mechanical heroes of the past? Most have vanished in scrap yards, some were saved by fire departments and private collectors, and a fortunate few have become shining specimens in museum collections to be enjoyed for generations to come.

The Oregon Fire Service Museum was founded to meet the need for a statewide fire museum to share the story of urban and wild land firefighting, to honor those in fire service, and to provide fire safety education.   We have a collection of over fifteen historic fire trucks and other apparatus dating back to hand and horse-drawn eras, plus equipment, documents, photographs, and memorabilia.  Unfortunately, the collection is currently hidden away in donated storage warehouses and is not accessible to the public.

We need your financial assistance to build a facility that will allow us to preserve, display, and expand our collection for everyone to enjoy.  Visitors will learn about major fires in cities, towns and forests and how they can prevent future fires. Exhibits will tell the story of evolving firefighting and fire prevention technology.

A site has been selected for the Oregon Fire Service Museum at Antique Powerland in Brooks, Oregon in the heart of the beautiful Willamette Valley  http://www.antiquepowerland.com/ .  This is a one-of-a-kind community of over sixteen museums dedicated to sharing the history of mechanical technology, including antique and vintage farm equipment, trucks, motorcycles, a steam-powered sawmill and more.

Through generous donations from friends of the Oregon Fire Service Museum and the generosity of Joe and Barbara Brewer Trust, we are very close to making the dream of building a statewide fire museum a reality.    We have 80% of the funds needed to build the first phase museum building.  This is an exciting time for the Oregon Fire Service Museum.

The Oregon Fire Service Museum is a 501(C)3 non-profit, managed completely by volunteers. We are passionate and excited about getting a building to maintain and preserve our precious antiques.

Please donate today to the Oregon Fire Service Museum and help us preserve and commemorate our fire heritage and make it available for all who wish to enjoy our history with us.
