About 3 years ago my daughter Nikkie was afflicted with an unknown fungus on her spinal cord that caused her to loose the ability to walk and eventually from moving her arms and hands.

She's had 4 spine operations, 3 brain operations, 2 shunts put in with hopes to keep fluids from building in her brain and avoid growing cysts.

The trouble is that after every operation, the last one was 2 weeks ago, Nikkie has to start from zero having to learn how to move every muscle in her body again and again.

This will be her third birthday in the hospital as she turns 30.

Although she has amazing high spirits, inspiring us all to go forward, see the best in all situations and keeping her faith strong it is still very hard to see a daughter suffer.

She'll need dozens of physiotherapy sessions which won't be covered by her insurance
