My name is Hector Silva and I am a second year graduate student at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I will be completing my degree in Industrial Design in May 2015, and I am currently working on a thesis project that would be a benefit to the field of health care. My focus is aiding pregnant women who have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. The concept I have created is a device that helps these women manage their gestational diabates with alerts and reminders about their blood glucose levels and daily activity goals. The device will connect to a mobile application that can send this data to their providers and will serve as a platform for these women to receive support from others with the same experiences.
Your support will help fund critical aspects of the design and development of this product, such as high resolution prototype models, a working model, a working application for iOS, packaging and a video documenting the user experience.
