Together we can raise $10,000. Together we can change the lives of a community all too easily missed.
We are raising funds, not for our Thanksgiving dinner, not for gifts for each other, we are raising funds to bring hope, resources and opportunity to the community of Glendora, Mississippi.
Glendora, Mississippi is a town that is all too easy to miss and forgotten. The population is small, 285. The average wage earner makes just over $4 an hour and the idea of having 3 meals a day is as foreign as a far away land.
Glendora is far away for sure. Last summer our group, the Youth Group of First Church in Ipswich, MA, under the leadership of Partners In Development, travelled down to Mississippi and met this historic town of proud, impoverished fellow Americans.
What we saw, who we met and the way we worked together along with the projects we completed, have changed us, and them. We want to continue this work; we owe it to those less fortunate, right here in our own backyard, to give in a way that makes a difference, to give in a way that provides infrastructure, playgrounds, schools and hope.
To give so they won't be missed.
At this time of thanksgiving, gathering family, and celebration please consider giving so we can fund another mission trip to Glendora. Please consider helping us finish the projects we started.
