In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Muslimahs 4 the Nation - Zimbabwe (M4N)

ABOUT US

Muslimahs 4 the Nation - Zimbabwe (M4N)  is a registered non-profit trust founded in 2013 to serve Muslim women and girls in Zimbabwe. It’s an organisation run by Muslim sisters from Zimbabwe who are living in and outside the country.

M4N was established to help ease the burden of those in need through initiating self help projects that are tailored to empower Muslim women. The organisation’s core focus areas are education,  self-help projects and community development interventions aimed at building stronger and sustainable communities. M4N strives in assisting Muslim women embrace their true Islamic identity through support groups and educational programs.

Our community development approach in charity and Dawah is systematically designed to allow participation by sisters to engage in charitable activities. The sisters offer support with resources, expertise, knowledge and time.

Our organisation’s primary goal is to build a better tomorrow ,with the hope of alleviating  challenges faced by the needy. Our belief is that by educating Muslim women to effectively apply Islam in their daily lives, they will eventually benefit their families and communities. This will subsequently lead to the advancement of Muslims whilst improving lives of the underprivileged and making them independent.

Our organisation has created and established its profile over social media. Through the use of technology,  sisters have linked through various social media platforms which are effectively used for Dawah purposes.

For us  the Internet has empowered us to be active in mobilising our sisters in Zimbabwe to position themselves through networking to  engage actively in dawah and charity. By assisting sisters build a sound Islamic foundation we seek to develop a holistic approach to living positively in a non Islamic environment. We aspire to encourage Muslim women to become beneficial contributors in all spheres of the Zimbabwean society beginning at grassroots level.

Alhamdullilah we have an active team of sisters within Zimbabwe coordinating in various areas and assisting in various  projects across the country for the sake of Allah.

As an initiative working voluntarily we strive to assist the Muslims through dawah and creating  an environment that breeds authentic Islamic spirit with the communities.

As a self-funded organisation we are often in need of assistance to accomplish some of our projects throughout the country. We accept and work with Sadaqa, Lillah and Zakaah accordingly on a strict 100% donation policy.

All donations and contributions both financial and non financial are welcome and used according to M4N discretion in line with our priorities , and the  current projects at hand. If a sponsor or donor specifies how their funds must be used we will gladly act accordingly as long as it is within the sharee'a laws and meets our values and principles.

We prefer to have a better understanding of the beliefs and ways of those who from time to time intend to participate at our programs and be given a platform to address sisters. In so doing it helps us maintain our shared goals and vision.

Our programs are anchored on challenges faced by Muslim women in Zimbabwe. More often we have engaged in other activities based on the urgent needs of certain Muslim communities. However our priorities still focus on educating and empowering Muslim sisters in Zimbabwe.

Our organisation is guided by Qur’aan and Sunnah and we act in accordance with Ahl Us Sunnah Wal jama'a. Alhamdullilah we have learned sisters amongst us who are always willing to impart their knowledge and we seek guidance and advice from various scholars.

It is in our our best interests to ensure the transparency of all our work at all times knowing that we are all ultimately accountable to the Allah. Therefore transparency and accountability form an integral part in M4N activities.

AIMS & GOALS

~ Clothing Muslim women

Many Muslim women and girls in Zimbabwe do not afford the cloth themselves Islamically. Hijaab is a right for every Muslim woman. Therefore our organisation has been providing deserving women with Islamic clothing consisting of hijabs and gowns. Allah Almighty instructs us in the Qur’aan : {O Prophet! Tell thy wives and thy daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close around them (when they go abroad). That will be better, so that they may be recognised and not annoyed. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.} (Al-Ahzab 33:59).

~ Facilitating in building Masaajids

Some areas in Zimbabwe still lack properly built prayer facilities, mainly in the rural areas. M4N has chipped in by helping Muslim communities in rural area by providing electricity through erection of solar panels. Also, water shortages continue to be a perennial problem that has dogged some communities for years. M4N has drilled water wells and boreholes at some Masaajids for the benefit of the community.  As the masjid is the home of growth for a community and a place where women can easily gather in accordance to shariah to educate and be empowered.

Prophet {SAW} said: “Whosoever builds for Allah a masjid, Allah will reward him similar to it in paradise.” & Anas reported that Sa’d(Allah be pleased him) once came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) and said: “O Allah’s Prophet! My mother died without leaving a will, is there any benefit for her if I gave Sadaqah (alms) on her behalf ? The Prophet answered yes, I advise you to give the Sadaqah through water.” [Reported by Al-Tabarani].

~ Providing Islamic literature and Qur’aans

Our mandate is to to educate and empower Muslim women through education. We provide Muslim women and girls in  rural Muslim communities with authentic Islamic knowledge through the distribution of Qur’aans to books of Ahadeeth,Seerah, Women's issues. We intend to facilitate the publication and printing of Islamic literature in local languages in years to come, in shaa Allah. Prophet {SAW} said: "The seeking of knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim." - Al-Tirmidhi.

~ Islamic education

Alhamdulillah, our organisation has learned Muslim sisters who studied deen in Zimbabwe and outside the country. Through their expertise and knowledge they have spearhead most of our educational programs. We have created learning platforms targeting Muslims and non-Muslims. To ensure Muslim women uses most of their spare time beneficially we created educational groups on social media where  basic Islamic tenets are taught. To date this initiative has been a success, Alhamdullillah.

~  Small scale community projects

In spite of our limited resources, one area that M4N has tirelessly pursued is the development of self-reliant communities. When the idea of creating this organisation was mooted, all members were in agreement that the prosperity of Muslim societies  hinges on  eliminating dependency syndrome. In light of this background we have been providing small scale community projects and inputs to encourage self sustenance in local communities. Our core areas of support include but are not limited to poultry farming, animal husbandry, market gardening and dressmaking. Prophet Muhammad{SAW} said: “Whosoever relieves from a believer some grief pertaining to this world, Allah will relieve from him some grief pertaining to the Hereafter. Whosoever alleviates the difficulties of a needy person who cannot pay his debt, Allah will alleviate his difficulties in both this world and the Hereafter. Whosoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in this world and the Hereafter. Allah will aid a servant (of His) so long as the servant aids his brother. Whosoever follows a path to seek knowledge therein, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. No people gather together in one of the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it among themselves, except that tranquillity descends upon them, mercy covers them, the angels surround them, and Allah makes mention of them amongst those who are in His presence. Whosoever is slowed down by his deeds will not be hastened forward by his lineage.” [Muslim].

~ Supporting the disabled

Muslims who are physically challenged have encountered numerous difficulties in our communities. Very few support groups have assisted Muslims who have disabilities. We found it prudent that we delve into this area and assist wherever we can as usually such people are normally neglected. It’s in our policy that whenever we embark on specific project, our priority has been identify the disabled firstly.

~ Educational assistance

To achieve our goal of eradicating dependency, we are sponsoring the needy and rural Muslim children pursue their education both academic and religious studies. We provide school fees and upkeep including food and clothing as no child can learn whilst hungry. And seeking knowledge is a compulsion upon the believes so one's inability due to poverty should not stop them from seeking education.

~ Iftaar and Qur’baani programs

Since the inception of M4N, every year we have provided iftaar meals to various communities throughout the month of Ramadaan. We have all participated in Qur’baani programs whereby we have slaughtered sheep and goats for the communities. These programs have established and bolstered the true spirit of islamic unity.

~ Women support groups

There has been an increase in cases of domestic based violence in the past few years.  Many women have suffered in silently. Through our support groups a number of women have come out seeking help. Our aim is help reduce domestic violence against women using dialogue and education. We endeavour to be a source of solace and support for victims while facilitating effective methods of reconciliation within the Islamic parameters. We will spearhead campaigns that build family values where women are central to the success of family unity.

We thank Allah almighty for the blessings, and for putting us in a position to empower and educate our women with the best islamic knowledge and help ease the burdens of those in need and address the dependency syndrome in our communities
