Escape From Alcatraz

I got into the triathlon scene about 6 years ago doing my first sprint race terrfied of the water and riding a mountian bike. After completing that race I was hooked. It has taken hundreds of hours in the pool, on the saddle, and on my legs to get to where I am today. December of 2013 I had a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction surgery and 6 months later qualified for WORLDS in Long Course Triathlon (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run). I have completed Ironman Florida , several half IM distances. Ive always wanted to do Escape from Alcatraz. This fall I entered the lottery drawing for it on a whim thinking I never win anyhting.. Well i was wrong! I was selected first round... As a working mom with 7 kiddos in the house you can imagine a trip to California and the entry fee are out of my leauge.. I would love ths opportunity to go and participate in this once in a lifetime opportunity.
