Melanie Gale and Stephen Rivers started Girl Fights MMA (www.girlfightsmma.com) with the goal of providing quality coverage of all levels and aspects of Women’s MMA, something we both feel much of MMA journalism lacks.
Girl Fights MMA reports and gives analysis on all aspects of the sport, including fight breakdowns, fighter analysis, event results, and important issues of the day. We are independently run and report on WMMA out of our passion and love for the sport. As WMMA grows in popularity, we also seek to expand our coverage. We would really like to begin covering live events in both the UK and US, where we each live. This would include attending select events from bigger organizations such as the UFC, Bellator, and of course Invicta, as well as local events where we live, and where writers who sometimes write for us live, too. We are also interested in covering related combat sports events such as state and regional BJJ trials, and the Women’s Judo and Wrestling Olympic trials.
In short, we want to cover WMMA as comprehensively as possible while remaining completely independent. In our short history, we have received many hits to our website, and gotten great feedback from fans, fighters, and other MMA journalists. It is important to us that we only answer to you, our readers, and not become beholden to any outside entities because of financial concerns. We simply love this sport and are heavily involved in and committed to the enrichment of the WMMA community.
Girl Fights MMA is a labor of love for us, and we would be honored if you helped us continue what we are doing. Your support is integral and appreciated. We would like to thank you for considering contributing to our expansion project, and with all kindness and gratitude we look forward to updating you all on our progress in the months to come.
