Cindy's on going mesh torment

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Cindy,

My story is about having two separate surgeries for hernia repair which was created from having my appendix removed, I had  plastic mesh implanted each time. I have been experiencing  irretractable pain for many years.
In 2002, when the first meshing was implanted,  my  body rejected it immediately. I was extremely ill in the hospital  with a high fever, intubated because  my bowels completely shut down while I was in and out of consciousness for 10 days .
I have spent thousands of dollars due to all the medical costs in an attempt to rebuild myself up nutritionally. I lost my marriage due to being so ill. I couldn't work as a massage therapist anymore.  I had to file chapter 7 due to all the medical cost.
I started to lose weight unexplainable in 2011, after many medical test done I found my self back in a surgeons office who promined me he could  make the bulging hernia that was still there from the 2002 surgery right. I was in so much pain and desparate. I trusted him.... My normal body weight was 167 lbs. prior to mesh implant surgery. At the time of the 2nd mesh implant surgery(2012) my weight fell to 123 lbs. then down to 108. With the 2nd surgery, the surgeon said that the   1st mesh was growing into my bowels, wrapping around my small bowel making it impossible for food to go through without pain. Even so, he left the decaying mesh in my body cut away some of it and some scar tissue and put another one in the size of 10 x15 cm  that now covers my whole  abdominal area. Since 2012, I have been in the worse pain than ever. For the last five months my life, it has been increasingly more painful and difficult functioning with day to day activities, I live alone and have no family support here, the few friends I have are mostly out of state and can only offer emotional support  by phone.  I am on two  prescribed  pain and nerve medication since late 2012. I experience horrible side effects from these drugs . I hope I can have this surgery to remove the 2 meshes thereby removing the cause of my pain to where I won't need medication anymore. Furthermore, I have also lost my upper teeth due to malnutrition over the years from the result of damage the meshes were doing to my intestines. (I am on a liquid diet due to fact I haven't received my upper dentures.) I just found out that these dental problems are very commn in meshing implants due to the plastic interferring with proper digestion/elimination.
I have been searching the Internet for anyone who is familiar and experienced with patients who are experiencing problems after having mesh implanted for hernia repair surgery. I found Dr. Kevin Petersen, in Las Vegas, Nevada just this month October 2014. Here is a video interview with him.

He is working on getting FDA to have these meshings recalled and stop putting them  in anymore patients. His success rate of removal is outstanding, there are only a few doctors removing these horrible implants and few are seeing consistant results, Dr Petersen is and does get wonderful results.

October 24, 2014 I had my phone consultation  with Dr. Petersen, he told me everything I go through daily which I have not explained here  due to its being too emotional and private to tell the whole world, is a direct result from these mesh implant surgeries. This was such a relief to hear coming from a doctor. I have been to over 30 plus doctors since 2012 and countless trips to the ER plus three and a half weeks in Janurary 2014 in the biggest Hospital in Albany, NY looking for answers to my on going pain and torment.

Dr Petersen  doesn't take insurance. But, he has helped hundreds of people who have been injured by mesh implantation. The surgery is $9,000. Some doctors are charging $30,000 to $50,000 without the success that Dr. Petersen gets.  I will  also need money for travel and medical costs. I have to stay for at least three days  after the surgery  plus I will have to have someone come to help me. (I presently live on $827/a month plus $189 food stamps in .)
I appeal to you from my heart to please donate whatever you can to help me get my surgery with Dr. Kevin Petersen.

Thank you for your time and  listening to my story. God Bless you all
Sincerely,
Cindy

P.S. I had a friend type this  for me because my ability to focus is limited due to the pain and the medication.
