Down a gallbladder, up a pile of debt
Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name is Katie. I'm a 29 year old student at St. Louis Community College, planning to transfer to University of Missouri - St. Louis to get my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. I work full time at a job where I'm overworked, underpaid, and provided pretty crappy benefits, and I'm also dealing with Major Depressive Disorder as well as General Anxiety Disorder, which are costing me $50/month in medication alone.
In the fall of 2013, I started having severe stomach pains. After nearly two weeks of consistent pain, I finally went to the E.R., where they discovered I had an inflamed gallbladder as well as multiple large gallstones. I had emergency surgery to remove it, which, unfortunately, left me with a large pile of debt.
I've been trying to work at it on my own, but lack of overtime ability at work, returning to school, and fighting depression have left me without much available income to pay off my hospital debt. I'm a 4.0 student who works hard and wants to do something better with her life, and I've found I need to break down and ask for help in order to keep picking away at it.
If you have a little bit of extra income to spare, please help me get my life back on track. I'm doing the best that I can.
