Help Clarissa get her smile back

Around 10 pm on Saturday, October 18th I received a call every mother dreads.  My 25 year old daughter, Clarissa, was found unconscious at her home and was then being transported by ambulance to UC hospital.  No other information was available at the time.  I was even more frightened knowing that she lived only blocks away from Mercy Hospital and was on her way to UC.  When I arrived at the hospital 2 hours later I had to take in the sight of my eldest child in the intensive care unit, unresponsive and on a ventilator.  Clarissa was found unconscious lying on her back on the walkway through her yard to her front porch, face beaten, bloody and swollen.
Clarissa's body temperature when they attempted a reading in the emergency room was so low that it did not even register.  Her head, face, shoulders, arms, hands, legs, hips, and feet are all badly bruised and she has multiple scrapes and scratches scattered across her body.  One of her front teeth is chipped, one is broken.  There are a total of 5 teeth that sustained major damage and will require root canals.  The broken front tooth will require a crown as well.   Her memory has been affected and she can not recall anything past a couple hours before the assualt until her 3rd day in the ICU.
Clarissa was the victim of a brutal assualt and was left for dead in her own front yard.  She will need the help of a skilled therapist to help her regain her memory as well as specialized dental care.  This is just what we know at this point.  I would imagine a trauma of this severity will require on going mental health services, as well.  Of course Clarissa has had to take time off from her job at a local 501 (c) charity while she heals and undergoes treatments.  So, the hardships, medical and otherwise, are compounded and quickly mounting.
We would like to acknowlege our family and friends who offered their love, prayers and support  during those long, scary days in the ICU.  A special thanks and our undying gratitude to the young man who saved her life by happening upon her and calling 911.  We would be exceptionally grateful for any and all help that can be given.  No amount is too small.  And, if you can not afford to help financially, we would very much appreciate continued prayers for peace and healing for Clarissa.

As you can see above, Clarissa has a beautiful smile.  Our greatest hope is that this senseless act of violence, and more specifically, the perpatrator of such, not be allowed to steal that beautiful smile.

Much love and appreciation,

Clarissa's Mother and biggest supporter,
Michelle
