A Step to Heal

Hello, my name is Johanna Orozco and I am a survivor of Dating Violence. After being in an abusive relationship for two years, I had the courage to leave my abuser. Shortly after leaving him, my ex-boyfriend sexually assaulted me and later, he shot me in the face with a sawed-off shot gun. I have had about a dozen surgeries to reconstruct the lower part of my jaw-and still need more to go. I have been in contact with a non-profit, Face Forward by a dear friend, Audrey Mabrey. Face Forward's mission is to provide surgical reconstructive services to victim/survivors, like me, who have been  victims of violence  and were disfigured to the face and/or body. They have accepted my case and want to help me get more surgery and a step ahead to recovery.  I have been wanting to get more surgery for a long time now and I am so grateful for this opportunity given to me. Because my husband is in the military and we just recently moved to Germany, Face Forward is not able to fly me to Los Angeles, CA for surgery. I need your help to help me raise money for Los Angeles. The money raised will help me get my and a family member (who will be my caregiver-during recovery) flight ticket.
