I Don't Want to Work
When I first saw Go Fund Me, I thought it was a great idea for people in serious need. I've donated to a few campaigns, but the more I paid attention, the more I realized that more and more people were using it to live beyond their means without looking to other resources.
To each their own, but in the meantime, kind-hearted individuals were getting sucked into these charities, even contributing to medical bills that didn't exist.
I decided it was time to start an honest GFM campaign. I actually love my job, so I'm cool with working. BUT, yeah it would be nice to take a day off without worrying about the money I would lose that day.
My "I don't want to work" campaign is brought to you courtesy of myself and a few other writers who thought it was time to generate an honest campaign. And the funds...they don't all go to me.
Let's assume that a writer needs to make a moderate amount of $100 a day to survive. Let's further assume that most writers don't take the full two day weekend off, if they even recognize the difference between a weekend and a weekday, because honestly, most of us don't.
For every $200 that can be withdrawn from this GFM campaign, a writer will get a couple of days off because I will give them the $200. Will I take a couple of days off? Heck yeah. I kinda like hanging out with my kid and being worry free for a day or two. But I won't be taking every $200.
You can go here>> Nominate a Writer for a Day Off to nominate a writer of your choice, and I will update the blog as writers are given the $200.
