Set up in 2010, Dynamic Africa is a rich content-driven creative space with a Pan-African outlook established as an expressive platform for African experiences, African culture and African stories. Dynamic Africa is a diverse multimedia platform which curates stories that impact, affect, shape and contribute to African and Diasporan cultures. At our essence, we mantain both a local and global African perspective in an effort to establish a promotional online space for African creatives worldwide.
As a brand, Dynamic Africa is driven by a deep desire to become a central platform for issues and information that concerns both Africa and the African diaspora.
What originally began as a passion project has now evolved into something with the potential to be something even greater - and you can help become a part of this!
Any contribution, no matter how small, will go towards developing, diversifying and creating various platforms to help us achieve our objectives. The following are:
The creation of brand new centralized website.
The website will serve as the one-stop spot for all things Dynamic Africa. Currently, we operate across various social media platforms including Tumblr , Twitter , Facebook , Instagram , Google+ and Pinterest . Having a website will enable us to centralize the informationn spread across these accounts, making it easier for information to be communicated to our readers. No longer will those interested in Dynamic Africa need to visit seperate social media platforms to get the best of what we provide. Instead, a centralized website will be the main focus of our original content. This will also enable the diverse range of writers and contributors we bring on board to take full control of the structure of their post, provided high quality published content for our readers.
UPDATE: With the help of your contributions so far, we have currently managed to purchase a domain and begin building our website. We are currently in the midst of finishing and polishing it up but still need contributions in order to have a web designer finish the work.
Developing a mobile-based app to better access our content
In line with creating a centralized website, as we are in the age of apps, Dynamic Africa plans to launch an operational and easy-to-use app that centralizes our content, linking you to our website, social media platforms and e-store, for ease of navigation. Technologically, this app will also help to contribute to the ever-growing landscape of digital technology in Africa.
Setting up an online store (e-store)
Throughout most African countries, markets play an intergral role in sustaining the informal economy of the community, or communities, they serve. In the spirit of the African market place, a place the promotes entreprenuership, local trade, and small business ownership, we aim to set up an online store that highlights all these values through the goods we will promote in our store. The e-store will consist of a range of curated products from African designers and brands, as well as brands that play a critical ethical role in African communities, as a way of encouraging and bridging African entrepreneurs with the rest of the world, through our globally-accessible online marketplace.
Investing in new projects and new technology in order to generate refreshing and original content
One of the most important focuses of Dynamic Africa is in the development of original content. As a diverse multimedia platform with a global audience, we want to represent an African stories in a way that reaches and reflects both the grassroots and the more popular throughout African communities. Through writing, filmmaking, photography and other creative arts, Dynamic Africa seeks to document the stories and experiences of African people in a unique but informative way. We believe in the importance of telling our own stories, developing the platform for these stories, distributing them in a way that does not compromise the narrative and essence of the story, and the critical need to archive these stories in a platform that serves in the interest of a more progressive outlook on Africa. To do so, we plan on investing funds towards purchasing technolongy and software that will allow us to do so, as well as in individuals that will be capable of making this dream a reality.
