I am the Girl Scout leader for Eowyn Dautrich who has been our troop since 2010.  She is a very sweet, caring, and loving girl whom I am glad to have as part of our Girl Scout family.  This has been set up to help her family in a time of need.

This family is currently facing many stressful medical and financial struggles.  It first began about 10 months ago when the mother, Jennifer, was injured at a team building workshop for her job.  She is being treated for CRPS Type 2 (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome - http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complex_regional_pain_syndrome).  Due to her injuries, she has been placed on medical leave at half of her normal pay.  Her remaining vacation time has been exhausted caring for her daughter, Eowyn.  Eowyn recently received a severe concussion after being hit in the temple during softball practice on September 29.  She is being treated for her concussion at the Ben Hogan Concussion Center in Plano.  She missed approximately 2 weeks of school and has recently been able to return to school for half days.

In addition to medical bills and partial loss of income, the family also has the additional financial burden of home repairs.  Their hot water heater went out and because of changes to building codes since their home was built, unexpected modifications were required.  While it is fortunate the cost was contained to under $1,500, the timing and circumstances made their financial situation worse.  Jennifer resorted to cashing out her 401K in an effort to make ends meet, but with the loss of half of her income and medical bills, it just isn’t enough.  It is not known how long Jennifer will be on medical leave.

The Dautrich’s also have a young son, Anakin, who has a life threatening dairy allergy.  In the past year, they have had to take him to the hospital twice to save him because of this condition.

Any assistance to this family would be greatly appreciated.
