Moving Whole Family, Bring Tito Too
My husband, fur-baby Tito, and I are all trying to move to Austin together for new opportunities. Ben has been unable to find job options in our current small town after leaving one due to discrimination. I currently work in retail, which doesn't pull enough to cover our bills. We've been surviving but the money we'd saved has dwindled.
In positive news, he has accepted a job in Austin and we've found a small apartment nearby. Things are looking up but we are facing the fees of starting in a new location and breaking lease with 30 day notice. Ordinarily, this is not the path we would take but we have no choice at this point. There is simply no way we could wait until the end of July when our lease ends, or we would need to take out a loan to pay monthly bills.
On top of all this, the pet deposit and fee could cause us to wait to bring Tito, our 6 and a half year old Pomeranian, with us. For his past 5 and a half years with me, he has been a strictly indoor dog, trained to use puppy pads. I mean it when I say he's an indoor dog! If he were to stay with family until we can afford to bring him to Austin, he would be staying with a lot of dogs he's not familiar with, and a couple of territorial male dogs. He would also be taken outside much more frequently than he's used to. And to be honest, we hate the idea of moving without our fur-baby for any amount of time. It won't feel like we've brought our whole family without him.
So this gofundme is a request for some help to ease the stress of the startup fees for a huge move. I've personally been in the same apartment for 10 years, ever since I moved into my own place for college. We will be moving about 230 miles and down sizing to a smaller living space. We are being mindful of spending and cutting back on many things. If you're able to spare a bit to help us with this transition, we would be incredibly grateful.
