Central Food Hub business plan is centered on making local farms and their products more accessible without the farmer having to attend more markets letting the farmer do what they do best, farm.  According to the Wallace Centers, Jeff Farbman, “food hubs are an astounding  success," responsible for "making farms more profitable, increasing acres in production, and in turn hiring more workers."

The value of small supply chains also supports the moral principles related to fair labor, sustainability and humane animal husbandry.    I am currently training young previously unemployed people to help me build this company and their enthusiasm is contagious.

The farms for whom I provide marketing services are small family owned and operated. These growers are passionate about taking care of the earth, making sure the food they produce is safe and healthy for consumers.

I currently sell in a renovated barn behind the farm to table  restaurant, Pure Pizza - Central. Owner Juli Ghazi hosts a Saturday Market open to local artists, artisan food purveyors and The Food Hub.

In order to develop my company I need cold storage. Instead of a single location walk-in cooler I want to have a refrigerated trailer. North Carolina State University designed a trailer specifically for this use.  I can use the trailer to pickup from farms and transport to Charlotte for further distribution.
