Mental Health Matters Edmonton

Mental Health Matters Edmonton is a non-profit group established to support people living with a mental illness in the Edmonton area. Too often, people who have a mental illness are falling through the cracks of a system that is lacking in resources and as a result, people are left feeling isolated and even more dismayed as they try to cope with their devastating condition.  When a person receive the news that they have a mental illness, they often don't know where to turn next as they begin their journey down a dark and confusing path.  Our goal at MHM Edmonton is to help light that way so that people don't have to feel so alone and afraid.

Through the work we do, we offer support and guidance to anyone who has a mental health condition living in the greater Edmonton area.  We accept anyone into our group that meets these two conditions and welcome those same members to our weekly support meetings.  Our goal with additional funding is to be able to promote our group at various events throughout the community to raise awareness of who we are and where we can be found. We also aim to become a non-profit within the next few months so that we can expand the services and supports we offer to a growing number of individuals.

Our belief at MHM Edmonton is that nobody should have to struggle alone.  We believe that everyone should have a place to go where there is compassion, kindness and non-judgement.
