On December 10th of this year my son committed suicide. I'm trying to get his foundation going. He was abused from age 3 to 6 by his bio mom and grandmother. My husband and her were together for the first three years and after they split up she moved in with her mother and the two of them abused them.
My husband and I got custody when he was 6 and there was no further relationship with his bio mom. We didn't know right away about what had happened. It took years for him and his siblings to tell us what had happened.
Anyways, I'm trying to bring awareness to childhood abuse and mental health. We had him in counseling and he spent time in hospitals. They sent him home with pills when we wanted him to stay longer. Unfortunately December 10th our worst fears came true. We came home from grocery shopping to find him. The mental health system needs a total overhaul and I'm trying to get word out.  I don't want anyone else to go through this nightmare I'm living.
