My Sweet Young Dog Needs ACL Surgery

Kaia is a 2 year-old chocolate lab/pitbull rescue puppy.  We adopted her when she was 4 months old, and she has had a special place in our family ever since.  We recently took her to the vet because she was limping and found out she has a partially torn ACL.  He informed us that unless she has surgery to repair her ACL, her running days are over.  Our energetic puppy loves nothing more in the world than to run after her ball and chase after our two boys.  As my 7 year-old said: "We don't want her running days to be cut short."  Our vet recommended surgery before the ligament tears completely, which happens 99% of the time.  He estimated that the surgery will cost about $3,000-$4,000.  I put $3,000 as our goal, but really any amount would help tremendously.
