Making A Documentary in Tanzania

Donation protected

If you had the chance to help change an entire family’s life, would you do it?

How about changing the lives of 50 families per year?

Before this journey began-
We had no idea about life in Tanzania. We had no idea that 8000 women died during childbirth in Tanzania every year. We had no idea that 20 women were leaving their newborn babies at risk of starvation every single day. We had no idea that there were 3.1 million orphans in Tanzania, alone. We had no idea that these statistics could be avoided so easily.

We learned that educating the remaining family members of these families and providing them with adequate supplies to ensure proper nutrition for these newborns, literally saves lives.

This is the work that Forever Projects has been passionately and tirelessly pursuing. This is the work we are supporting. We have joined the team to use the skills and abilities that we have, to help make a difference in the lives of these families.

In July this year we are joining a team and travelling to Tanzania to tell stories of this work on the ground through film. You can be a part of the journey.

The nutrition is only the beginning-
Forever Projects is dedicated to empowering generations of Tanzanian families by helping them start their own businesses and generate an ongoing income to help support themselves. This is a solution for life!

After meeting with the Forever Projects team, there was no way we could turn our backs on the amazing work these guys had been doing. The results are tangible. These guys are successfully assisting Tanzanian families in overcoming poverty and setting themselves up for life.

Our hearts spoke first -
We wanted to be a part of this transformation. We had to be a part of this passionate team and contribute in any way we could to ensure that their work could continue.

Our brains kicked in -
what could we possibly offer? We are young. We aren’t in great financial situations. We live week-by-week on our paychecks to ensure that bills are paid and food is on the table. How could we possibly contribute to this cause?

When you weigh up these issues, sacrificing a few paychecks and postponing that holiday for another couple of months, with the ability to use what you DO and literally save lives and to empower generations of Tanzanian people - is there really a choice to be made?

Our addiction of story telling -
through video is the drive for our journey to Tanzania, to tell their stories to the best of our abilities and we are so excited for this journey ahead.

Video is an essential part in connecting people to charity and without creatives like us it is very difficult to fundraise and continue to empower familes in Tanzania. We will be collecting stories of hope and of lives changed through video and photography. We will meet families who are moving themselves from poverty and share their vibrant and hopeful story of Africa that we don't often get to see through film.

How can you help to change lives?-
We need your help, support and your generous donation to fund our video work in Tanzania, to help with filming all video content, travel expenses, video equipment and post production costs. Without these expenses covered it makes if very difficult to capture engaging and unique conent that will make for beautiful video to tell stories of hope and of lives changing but also for Forever Projects to keep growing. This is a very special project and we need your help to help others.

Help us on our journey to Tanzania to create -
- a full length documentary
- promotional videos
- setting up a sustainable solution for others like us to tell story through video & connect our donators to the families they support.

I'm Maddy- I'm  a photographer and a film maker with a Bachelor in Digital Media from the University of Wollongong and for a long time I have wanted to help others but wasn't really sure how to, as giving financially wasn't really an option. Last year I lost one of my best friends and she was really the drive that pushed me to stop procrastinating and take a leap of faith. I wanted to do something selfless and find meaning in what I do, instead of always thinking about what I can get out of something. When I remembered Forever Projects, it clicked, I could use my photography and my video skills to possibly help them with their campaigns. One meeting, one conversation and I was thrown into it and I haven't looked back. Over the last 6 months I have worked on some promotional videos for them, mainly for social media and they have been super successful and so much fun.

My next step is to travel to Tanzania with a group of like minded people that share the same passions as myself and produce what I hope will be an amazing documentary which will make connections between what charity is? how is it important? how is it possible to make change and break free from pre-conceived ideas of charity? and most importantly tell the stories of the families that have received help directly from Forever projects. Alongside the documentary we are producing content that will take us into the year to come for fundraising campaigns, promotions and also what is really important, connecting our donators to the families that they support. People that support and donate will be able to see directly where their money is going through monthly emails, photos and video, these connections are an integral part in what we are hoping to achieve. This is really exciting times for Forever Projects and I can't wait to see what we produce, we might be small but we are mighty!

I'm Elise- I'm a Creative Director/Production Assistant & I’ve always had a passion for people and storytelling - whether it be writing, performing, or public speaking. After studying the at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts, my passion for acting drew me to the Film & Television Industry which has since transformed into a life behind the camera. After witnessing the potential for storytelling and creative exploration, I couldn't help but learn and develop my skills to incorporate film production into my career.

I am currently working as a Creative Director and Productions Assistant with a production company in Wollongong. My job is to handle the creative direction of our projects - from concept design, to scriptwriting, storyboarding, shooting and finalisation. While I’m currently utilising my abilities as a Creative Director, I am constantly expanding my professional skill set to include filming, editing and production, on a broader level.

I’m most excited about this trip, as it allows me to recount so many stories of hope, challenge and triumph in a way that is relatable to people anywhere around the world. Despite our external circumstances, we can all relate to one another on a human level. My aim with this documentary is to help bridge the gap between our expectations of life in Tanzania, versus the reality of the situation. I seek to find the best ways that we can possibly band together and use what’s in our hands, and the skills and abilities that we possess, to make a real difference in the world. I’m looking forward to the challenge of telling these people’s stories in a relatable and engaging way, to touch the hearts of many and inspire positive change in the world."
