Fleur's Battle With Brain Cancer

Donation protected

After undergoing a successful operation to remove an aggressive type of brain tumor in 2013 and then 4.5 years in the clear, during a routine follow up scan in March 2018 doctors found a larger tumor on the other side of Fleur Kay's brain. The medical terminology for the type of tumor that Fleur suffers from is a grade IV glioblastoma.

Fleur, wife to Darren and mother to Madison (11) and Jack (7), is now in the middle of battling brain cancer for the second time. The treatment options this time round have been different because doctors are limited with the radiation treatment compared to what was used to remove the first tumor in 2013.

Fleur has undergone surgery to remove the second tumor, however the surgery and subsequent treatment has not worked and the tumor has continued to increase in size.

Friends of the family have created this page to try and help them during this devastating experience.

At the moment as Fleur's condition is not improving, the physical, emotional and financial toll that it is having on the family is huge. The family income is limited whilst Darren is unable to work as he cares for Fleur full-time and any savings that did exist were used up on costs for Fleur's treatment in 2013.

The Kay family is frantically exploring alternative treatment options at the same time as trying to care for and spend time with Fleur. Whilst there are options there, the family does not have any available funds to pay for these treatments.

Extended family have expended their life savings supporting the Kay family over the last 4.5 years and it breaks their hearts that they cannot help Fleur and Darren more at this time.

We are asking for your help.

We know there are people out there who can help this beautiful family. Even if you can only spare $1, donate it and then share the page to encourage others to do the same.

Every donation is hugely appreciated and will go towards helping Fleur and her family fight this nasty disease.
