Help Us Make A Movie!

Donation protected
A young girl is thrust into a journey to save her friends that will take her through rebel camps, forests, and castles.
As time ticks by, she discovers a plot to restore the throne to its rightful heir, a young queen who will become a friend and mentor. With the help of a thief, a band of restless rebels and an improbable group of ragtag warriors, will she bring freedom to the villages and uncover the truth about her past?

This summer we, a group of homeschoolers and friends from northwest Montana, will be working together to make a feature length medieval/fantasy movie entitled 'Concerning Queens And Laundry Maids'.

Our director, Elizabeth, and producer, Mailli, came up with the idea for the plot last June, but as we were in the middle of filming a short film we had to put it off for the summer.  The story still simmered in the backs of our minds, and we were just waiting for a chance to turn it into a movie.

In January we teamed up with Abbi, our co-director, and began work on the screenplay.  We've spent this spring holding auditions, scouting locations and figuring out logistics. The amount of emails that need to be sent to organize everything is more than we ever imagined possible!

At this point we have our characters cast, and it's time to start making and collecting costumes, props, and equipment.

Expenses include:
-Costumes (fabric, costume rentals, shoes)
-Food (snacks for on set, 'a happy crew makes a happy movie')
-Equipment (microphone boom pole, a second camera, rentals)
-Props and sets (plywood, paint, swords)

The schedule

Filming will take place for a week near the middle of August, and we'll hold several rehearsals before then. Then from September through early February we'll edit and score the film.  And finally on February 24, 2018, the movie will be released!

Risks and challenges:
People could get sick. Equipment could glitch. An undiscovered volcano could erupt and wipe out all our locations.

We are doing everything we can to problem solve and figure out solutions to problems before they can crop up.

We may just be a group of teenagers, but we can dream up and finish this project. Too little is expected of teenagers these days; this is a chance for us to show that it doesn't matter what age you are. We are  working together to make a creative  work of  and learning how to make things happen in the real world.

And though undoubtedly problems will arise, at least we can remember that "There are no mistakes, just happy little accidents."*
