Tiny Gyms for the Homeless

This a fundraiser to support Tiny Gym's for the Homeless (TGH). This will help the homeless improve their mental health and fitness. After providing housing assistance, food, clothing, and hygiene, the focus must now be on improving their mental health and physical fitness. The Tiny Gym is a model to provide a scientific learning environment for people in transition to improve their participation in their communities. In collaboration with Tiny Homes for the Homeless, Tiny Gym's for the Homeless (TGH) is a solution to improve the health and mental wellbeing of the Transient population.

We are also educating children & their parents to provide healthy alternatives and activities. Funds are being raised to further research on exercise science for kids.

Other areas of focus required for funding:

-Maintaining website 

-Community engagement

-School visits to help spread the No vaping for minors campaign

-Distribute age restriction posters to stores

-To promote Innovative Health Education 

Fit2Grid is a non-profit foundation founded for the purpose of advancing health education through pop-up gyms, museums, conventions, missions, publications and nutritional supplements.

The staff of Fit2Grid is an entirely volunteer group who give their time to teach, write and participate in the above stated mission. Fit2Grid’s primary product is health education and to promote good nutrition with our affiliate FitCube Nutrition. This takes many forms including local meetings, missions, workshops, and production of health education materials and supplements.

Fit2Grid receives support from medical, retail, and health education professionals.

A Story of a Healthy Community:

 

The Hukilau is a way of fishing invented by the ancient Hawaiians. The word comes from "huki", meaning "pull", and lau meaning leaves. A large number of people in the community working together in casting the net from shore and then pulling it back. A festive gathering is also known to the local Hawaiians as a hukilau. Consistent with the ancient Hawaiian subsistence economy, anybody who helped would benefit from the "pull". The Hukilau Community Project is a grass-roots effort to live in the spirit of this festive gathering.
