My wife's name is Raphael.

She is a 29 year old teacher and jazz singer and the love of my life. In February this year, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Metastatic Bowel Cancer. A cancer believed by many to be an "old person's disease." This is simply not true. Facts are that 1 in 2 people under 30 in our life time will be diagnosed with or effected in someway by cancer. This is beyond reasonable.

Worse still, Raph and I have learned just recently that we will have to relocate our entire lives down to Melbourne to continue treatment because unfortunately the chemotherapy regimes we have tried have simply stopped working. It has only been a year and we have met our end with traditional efforts.


Raph never smoked. She never drank heavily. She ate properly. She refrained from red meat. There is no history of cancer in her family. She is not meant to have this disease, and yet she does.
