Please as family we needyour help. For the past two years i have been living with Lyme disease, it's a chronic illness which has had a debilitating affect on my life.
For you that don't know Lyme disease is a infectious disease caused by a tick bite. While it can be cured with a course of antibiotics if treated right away, chronic lyme is a lot harder to combat.
Some of the many symptoms include severe exhaustion, Arthritic pain, head pressure, loss of balance, anxiety, seizures, depression and migraines.
I don't even remember being infected but i do remember the very day i got ill. It was March 2013 while i was at work.
I suddenly felt extremely dizzy and fell to the ground. I then had trouble standing or walking.
From that day onwards my health just kept on declining.
I was finally diagnosed after 1,5 years with Lyme disease and many other co infections.
The disease has now has made it's way into my brain, spinal cord and brain stem, so all of my symptoms are neurological.
I am never symptom free.
As a family we have spent everything we have treating this illness. The cost of treating Lyme disease is very expensive because the Australian government is not recognising the existence of Lyme disease in Australia.
The good news is wehave found a treatment that may work. The treatment is in Germany and the main treatment is Hyperthermia.
It involves with putting you to sleepfor 8 hours while the body is heated to 42 degrees. This helps to get rid of the disease.
Also after the treatment you need to follow a strict protocol for 6 months.
Hyperthermia has also been successful in treating cancer and other diseases.
The treatment is approximately $30 000AUD.
Also when i return to Australia we are looking at a further $35 000 for further IV treatment.
