Noel Espino Drunk Driver Victim

US Army National Guardsman, Noel Espino, my Brother-in-Law, was crushed between a Ford Expedition and a building on 19 September, 2014 by a drunk driver in Lexington, KY.  The driver was a 36 year old, uninsured firefighter, who has since been fired and is being charged with first degree assault with a deadly weapon.  Noel was on the phone with his wife when he was struck that horrific night.  He was attending training at Blue Grass Station in Lexington, KY from his home base in Guam, and was relaxing with friends after hours at a local establishment.  Noel remains in critical condition after undergoing multiple life-saving surgeries that include an amputation of his left leg and part of his pelvic bone.  He is expected to be in the ICU for a few more weeks with approximately a year of rehabilitation and therapy.  Noel is married to my wonderful Sister-in-Law Rose and they have a beautiful daughter Jasmine who is currently a Senior in High School.  Rose has had to leave her job to be by her husband’s side as he recovers from surgeries and slowly becomes more coherent.  Her support and presence is critical to his recovery and well-being.  Jasmine continues to focus on High School, but tries to travel and see her Mom and Dad when possible.  This has proven very expensive with lodging and travel.  Rose’s per diem and lodging is being covered by the Command, but any additional expenses will not be covered.  All medical is being taken care of by TriCare, but she has left a good paying job and has to still meet all of their financial obligations prior to this event.  I have started this site in the hopes to see if we can try to get some donations to assist in airfare for Jasmine and to help with other expenses that the family is incurring while this tragedy is being dealt with.  Please help me get this out to anyone who would be willing to donate or even just place us in their thoughts and prayers.  The Espino Family could sure use all of that right now.  God Bless!
