With Heavy Hearts, We Ask for Help for Our Family

We never imagined asking for help, but right now we are facing the impossible: supporting our daughter under palliative care while preparing her dad for major open-heart surgery for an aortic aneurysm and aortic root repair!
This January, our world was turned upside down when we were told that my husband, Kris, has a severe congenital heart defect and urgently needs open-heart surgery for a heart valve replacement. The risks of such major surgery and the long recovery ahead are terrifying. Kris is a self-employed builder, and his work is physically demanding and high risk. After surgery, he will be unable to return to full work for at least six months, leaving us without our only income at a time when we are already struggling to cope.
What makes this even more frightening is our daughter, Doris. Doris lives with a life-limiting brain condition and extremely complex epilepsy. Over the past year, we have been losing her slowly, one seizure at a time. She is now under palliative care, and our lives are spent between home, hospital, hospice, and frequent ambulance trips.
I am Doris’ full-time carer, 24/7, and I cannot work due to her needs and regular hospital admissions. Doris must always come first. Following surgery, Kris will also need care during his recovery, on top of everything we already face. Emotionally, we are exhausted. Physically, we are stretched to our limits. Financially, we are terrified of what lies ahead. Any funds raised will help cover essential living costs and travel to and from hospitals and hospice, allowing us to focus on what truly matters, caring for Doris and helping Kris recover safely.
Any donation, no matter how small, helps lift some of this unbearable weight. If you’re unable to donate, sharing our story means more than you know. Thank you for reading, for your kindness, and for standing with us during the hardest chapter of our lives.
Here is Doris’ page for those who wish to follow her journey. https://www.facebook.com/share/1D2mKnFp45/?mibextid=wwXIfr With gratitude,
Doris’ Mum & Dad
