Due to lack of traction and time limitations on Kickstarter we have decided to switch back to Go Fund Me and offer the same rewards here!
About us
Warwick Boring is an initiative of 30+ highly motivated student engineers from the University of Warwick. Our aim is to develop and innovate tunneling technology which we believe is the right step towards sustainable transportation infrastructure. Our primary objective is to compete and win the Not-a-Boring competition hosted by SpaceX and The Boring Company. After tireless efforts of the team we have successfully reached the final stage out of approximately 400 teams where we will compete against the other 11 finalists putting us in the top 3% around the world.
We aim to complete manufacture of the TBM by mid-late June so please donate and help us reach our goal!!
How we plan to spend the money
The money collected will be spent in 4 distinct areas -
i. Manufacturing customised components ~ £30,000
ii. Sourcing various parts from suppliers ~ £30,000
iii. Unit and system testing ~ £10,000
iv. Transportation and logistics of the team and machine ~ £30,000
Competition
The ‘Not-a Boring’ competition is hosted by Elon Musk’s ‘The Boring Company’ to drive innovation forward in tunnelling and make transportation 3 dimensional. The aim of the competition is to dig a 30m long and 500mm wide tunnel as precisely and as quickly as possible. To achieve this the team is in the process of building the Silk Worm - 1, our Tunnel Boring Machine. For more information about the competition and the boring company Click Here

Rewards
Bronze 1.0 (£20+) - We will give you a shout out on our livestream during the competition week and add your name on our website for the world to see your support for the team
Bronze 2.0 (£50+) - We will give you a shoutout on our livestream and display a 100 character message form you during competition week. Along with this we will add print your name on the TBM (small text size) and our website for the world to see your support for the team.
Silver 1.0 (£150+) - We will give you a shoutout on our livestream and display a 100 character message along with a picture sent from you during the competition week. Along with this we will add print your name on the TBM (medium text size), our team merchandise and our website for the world to see your support for the team.
Silver 2.0 (£450+) - We will give you a shoutout on our livestream and display a 100 character message and a picture sent by you during the competition week. Along with this we will print your name on the TBM (medium text size), our merchandise (medium size text), in the credits section of a documentary being made about us and our website for the world to see your support for the team. We will also be sending you a team t-shirt and a 3D printed replica of the TBM as thank you merchandise.
Gold (£1,000+) - We will give you a shoutout on our livestream and display two 100 character messages and a picture sent by you during the competition week. Along with this we will print your name on the TBM (large size text), our merchandise (large size text), in the credits section of a documentary being made about us and our website and all our social media platforms for the world to see your support for the team. We will also be sending you a team t-shirt and a 3D printed replica of the TBM as thank you merchandise.
Legend (£3,000+) - You will receive everything in the gold package but in addition you will have the chance to meet our team and ask them questions about our journey and technology. We will also video call you during our manufacturing process (and potentially during the competition) to thank you for your support so you feel like a part of the team and competition.
