Hello, I am Ashley, Tyler Ritchey sister and I wanted to share his story and see what we can pull together with the support of our amazing community! Many people know who Tyler is but for those who don’t he is a 33 year old who became an incomplete-quadriplegic at the age of 18 after a swimming pool accident. Tyler has never let this slow him down. He is the guy in the wheelchair that refuses to use a handicap spot or park close to a building because some need it more than him. He still hunts, rides 4-wheelers & his most important hobby that keeps him going is his super late model. Tyler got married and has a 2.5 year old little boy named Wyatt with the plan to grow his family in the near future. He lives a simple life and loves nothing more than racing and his family. Tyler was found unresponsive yesterday morning by his wife Taylor. He has several blood clots in his legs and is currently in the Johnstown ICU in critical condition, doctors are doing everything they can to keep him stable. We will not have many answers or know his brain function for several days due to them needing to keep him sedated for his body to rest and heal. One thing we know is that no matter what the outcome is that Tyler, Taylor and Wyatt along with the rest of the family will have a long road ahead. Let’s see what we can do as a community to help alleviate some stress for them of all that is to come for their future. Tyler is so proud of the house he and Taylor had just finished building and moved into at the end of February. We want nothing more for him to get to come home and grow his family in it & we know it is all possible through God. So many prayers have already been answered and the most important thing we can do is pray pray pray and give it all to God for he knows plan.
