Masters Music Tuition Fees
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
Thank you for visiting my GoFundMe page. My name is Sheila Maurice-Grey and I'm a London based trumpeter studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. I’m currently doing a two year Postgraduate course in Jazz. I started September 2014 and hope to finish in 2016 however due to financial constraints I haven't been able to pay the remainder of my fees and consequently I may not be able to continue with my course. The funding I was supposed to receive to complete the payment was withdrawn at the very last minute.
This course has been really important to me and my future career as a trumpeter as it has facilitated me with information, equipment and the one on one support I needed. Prior to and during the course I've had many great opportunities to perform at and with some awesome musicians and venues such as, Jazz Jamaica at the Royal Festival Hall, Tomorrow's Warriors Female Collective at the Royal Albert and BBC Radio representing Nerija and TWYO. I'm apart of Nerija and am the leader of my own Afrobeat Collective called 'KOKOROKO.'
Being one of few black female trumpeters in the UK, I see postgraduate study as an opportunity to refine my trumpet playing skills to become a role model to other trumpeters and female musicians. I have been playing trumpet for 12 years and I am very passionate about developing my skills to perform internationally with legendary artists. I am also committed to my local community and therefore I plan to work existing programmes that support young emerging artists that may also have financial constraints.
My university have given me a 3-week deadline so I can not do this without your support. Please support this good course. I'll be more than happy play a trumpet at community events in exchange of a donation.
Thank you in advance for your donations!
