Scott has been more than just a family friend — he’s been a part of our community and family. Whether as a trusted, friendly face at Cullen’s Home Center, a reliable workout partner at Vital Fit Club, or simply someone who brings laughter and positivity wherever he goes, Scott has touched the lives of so many of us.

Since April, Scott has been unable to work due to health challenges and is now traveling to Rochester for ongoing treatment for brain cancer. As friends, and supporters, we want to rally around him during this difficult season.

Scott’s Medical Journey – How It All Began (from Scott)
In early April, I began experiencing mild dizzy spells. At first, they seemed manageable—just brief, passing moments. But everything changed on April 18th. While at work at Cullen’s, I suddenly became so dizzy I couldn’t stand and couldn’t speak. I was rushed to the ER in Alexandria, where I collapsed. I had stroke-like symptoms, suffered a seizure, and went into cardiac arrest.

I was immediately airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital where I spent a week undergoing tests. Doctors found a suspicious spot on the left side of my brain, and I continued with outpatient tests over the next few weeks.

On May 13th, I experienced another episode in Alexandria, again losing the ability to speak. I was transferred from the ER to Sanford Hospital in Fargo to be evaluated by their stroke and seizure team. The same spot on my brain appeared on scans—only now it had grown.

After a week in Fargo, I made the decision to transfer to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester for more specialized care.

Throughout June, I spent two separate weeks at Mayo undergoing intensive testing. On June 20th, I had brain surgery to biopsy the mass. The results confirmed our fears: it’s a brain tumor—cancerous—located on the left side of my brain.

On July 15th, I began a 6-week treatment plan at Mayo, going Monday through Friday for a combination of radiation and chemotherapy in hopes of shrinking the tumor. After this treatment cycle, I will continue with regular MRIs and further evaluations to determine next steps.

How You Can Help
Scott has been out of work since April, and treatment will keep him out until at least September. Between travel to Rochester, medical bills, and everyday expenses, the financial strain has been heavy.

Any help—big or small—will mean the world to him. Your generosity will go toward covering medical costs, travel, and daily living needs while he continue this fight.

Thank you for your support, prayers, and encouragement during this journey. Scott is staying hopeful and taking things one day at a time.
