The little ones ask for an incubator!

Astra's foster home has been saving and transforming the lives of kittens and puppies for years. The smallest of our four legged friends are often on the verge of death when they arrive at our home.
Although we have achieved great success, and saved many, we still need vital intensive care equipment and support to prevent the unnecessary loss of life. This year we received 17 kittens, but sadly 5 did not survive. In these sad cases ICU incubators and regular assisted feeding would have probably saved them.

Astra's foster home has a highly qualified expert vet, Karolina, who can perform many critical treatments. She studies veterinary medicine and neonatology which is her passion. She is able to undertake specialist blood donation work to save lives. The use of an artificial mother cat and imported cat milk also help to keep our tiny friends alive to fight another day.
Karolina stresses the need for ICU equipment. She says "an incubator not only provides a constant temperature, but also adequate humidity, and if necessary, nebulization or oxygen therapy. I know that many do not support saving such little kittens, but I cannot write them off with my heart. They really fight for their lives from the beginning, and when they are full and safe, they purr!"
"A kitten can arrive after a dozen or so hours under the bushes without its mother. It is hungry, chilled and struggling for every breath. Often the first few days are crucial, I believe this equipment will give them every chance of survival.”
