Hi! My name is Nicola and I am raising money for one of my best friends Rachel, her husband Vince and their son Kyrie. Rachel and Vince have both lived in the western slope of Colorado for the past decade and have spent their time working locally for the Counties, Districts and as a teacher. They welcomed their son Kyrie last year in Montrose. Since October of 2025 Kyrie has been battling pulmonary hypertension and scimitar syndrome, which is a rare heart condition that left his PDA open after birth causing a buildup of fluid in his lungs. He has been a champion staying strong every step of the way but has had to undergo heart surgery, CT scans, intubation and expensive medications. He has had to be life flighted to Colorado Springs from Gunnison and these costs added up incredibly fast. Rachel and Vince are now staying in Denver with Kyrie until he is cleared to return to Gunnison and need to cover the cost of accommodation as well.
