Joel, the father of The String Family suffered a fractured skull, bleeding on the brain and blood clot between the skull and the brain.
He, his family and some family friends were at a waterfall when his feet went out from under him and he fell. His head contacted with the ground and he was unconscious for a short while. As they were out of mobile reception, Sarah and friends had to get him to the local hospital, however the treatment he needed wasn't available at that hospital.
(not this waterfall)
After being airlifted to Townsville Hospital, he has been closely monitored, and so far the doctors haven't needed to operate. He has had some seizures so the doctor's are still trying to stabilise him.
Sarah has just been told that his recovery will take many months, which could impact on his ability to play cello and get back to work.

With the hospital being 3 1/2 hours from home, Sarah is having to stay in short term accommodation away from the children, and that along with future medical costs are starting to feel overwhelming.

Anything you can spare will be greatly appreciated. If you are not in a position to help then it would be great if you could share the link to as many people as you can in the hope we can make their life a little easier.
For info: I'm Megan - Sarah's sister. I'm in Wollongong so other than support, it's hard to help out from 2500kms away. At least I can make sure that Sar and Joel don't have money issues to worry about. All withdrawals will be transferred straight from GoFundMe to their account.
