Life handed our family some news this past month that we’re still processing… my cousin Faith has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Since this past week, she has been undergoing chemotherapy. Tackling this full force they’re having her do chemotherapy for five days twice a month for the next six months until further evaluation. To be by her side and support her through this, her mother (my aunt Mikey) will be stepping away from work during those treatment weeks as well as every Tuesday of every month for “clinic” appointments along with other follow-ups.

Many of you know Faiths passion for our Families mini farm and all of her animals! Faith is apart of Mercers 4H Club showing her animals as well as ARBA (American Rabbit Breeding Association) and ADGA (American Dairy Goat Assoication). She will still be as present as possible in these activities as they mean so much to her. Faith and Mikey also hand craft incredible Soaps and Skincare from our goats milk. While their schedule is changing, her Etsy shop is on vacation until further notice because we are too busy traveling and supporting faith being by her side. The animals are still being looked after, tended to and loved by our Grandparents.

It would mean the world to her to know her products are out there making people smile while she fights this fight. Although the online Etsy shop is on vacation, they sell their products at Makers Market in the Clearview Mall Butler PA. At this time it is easier to keep the store shelves stocked once a month than being overwhelmed taking in unlimited orders. Right now any donation, farm help and all prayers are appreciated to help support Mikey while she’s away from work to cover bills at home, medical bills, medicine she has to have to complete chemo treatment, covering meals or eating out, costs of traveling to Pittsburgh, parking, for feeding Faiths animals, etc. My grandmother is doing the farm work alone while My aunt, Cat (Faiths sister) are absent to be alongside Faith. Josh and I have stepped in when we can, but also found it tricky with little ones due to the cold along with Josh working. If there’s any volunteers looking to do some farm chores we know our grandmother would definitely appreciate the help in this cold! More updates will be posted as we move forward.

As we have been placed in a humbled position, we trust and believe in our community. We know the 4H community amongst all of our friends and many strangers in Mercer County have always been so kind and supportive to our Faith and our family! They wanted to thank you for the support, cards and care packages Faith has already received to prepare her for her first treatment. Again this is devastating news, Faith is 17 years old with big dreams to become a large animal Veterinarian when she graduates Mercer high school. She is always the first to help those in need, works the hardest on the farm and is full of passion for these animals and kindness to those around her.
