Steve Michaels (Stroke) Self-Employed Musician

**UPDATE 7/31** Steve is back home. Walking every day, talking without struggles, and brain getting sharper by the day! He made a guitar chord for the first time a couple days ago, and is now trying to regain the dexterity in his fingers.  Long road ahead, but he’s kicking ass and getting better each day. He can’t wait to get back onstage sooner than later and is very touched by then outpouring of community support…simply incredible. 

**UPDATE**  Steve is currently in Physical Therapy at South Bend Memorial.  He's speaking normally, but still having a tough time with his left hand/arm.  He does have some movement back in his left hand/fingers!   I will continue to update everyone as he continues his recovery.   It will be a long road, but if anyone can do it, Steve can.  Thank you everyone for your generosity, donations, and prayers.



Steve suffered a stroke and is in the hospital now recovering from the initial stroke symptoms. He has a great team of Neurosurgeons, Nurses, and Physical Therapists that are putting together a plan of attack to get him back to normal ASAP.

He had 100% blockage in his right corollary artery and this has severely affected his left-side motor functions. 

As many of you know, Steve has spent his life entertaining others as a member of River Road Band and for the last 10+ year solo……and makes his living as a self-employed musician. Covid was very hard on him and all self-employed musicians, but his schedule had began to look like pre-Covid and he was playing 4-6 shows week before the stroke. He was resilient and will continue to be.

Asking for help for him to keep his house paid up, pay medical bills, and most of all to help him not to worry about anything other than making a full recovery.
