Somi  Se’k Village, Scrub Oak Paradise

We live in a Scrub Oak forest as we build our resistance camps and prepare for Non Violent Direct Action against the boy president’s border wall.   There are no Holiday Inn Extended Stays on the wall path as we settle in for this fight. Nor do we need them. We live a modified tribal existence and are connected with the earth and the stars and the wildlife. Every morning the birds bring in the dawn and at night the coyotes sing songs around us as we sleep tucked in our blankets and sleeping bags.

This however is not to say that we suffer in anyway from the absence of modern amenities.  Our kitchen staff and chef (yes we have one) prepare our meals and keep the facility clean with a built in double sink complete with hot and cold running water.  Our solar powered generator provides lights at night and associated electronic support always. The hot showers in camp both sooth our tired bones and make us smell better and porta potties are provided for our sanitary comfort as well.

We have completed Phase I of III and the base camp infrastructure here at Somi Se'k village is in place.  Phase II begins this week as we establish a forward camp on the wall path at Yalui village in Mission. The supplies are staged and ready,  the site has been prepared and we send an advance party in four days. Esto'k Gna and Lakota lead the way in the struggle for Earth and Justice and Truth.  Prepare now Sisters and Brothers for the callout… Phase III is coming!!!

This is a long term operation. We believe in defending the rights of original peoples, Mother Earth and all humans, recognizing that migration is one of those rights that is fundamental to our community ecology.
We oppose the building of climate changing infrastructure and the Border wall. We will protect indigenous sacred sites from haphazard bulldozing.

This funding request is to be used for set up cost of the advance team and ongoing transportation costs of resupply. The fund will be dedicated to moving our sanitation trailer where needed.
