Hello everyone!
My name is Alessandro Reali and I am currently in Africa, near Kampala (Uganda), for a volunteering experience with a non-profit organization called IVHQ.
I am working with the local staff to contribute to the children’s social and emotional developments, communication skills, as well as their reading, writing and calculating abilities.
To be more specific, I am also helping mentally and/ or physically challenged children by providing them with social support.
Unfortunately, Uganda has an extremely high rate of children living in poverty, many of whom who are orphans as a result of the HIV/ AIDS epidemic, among other diseases including Malaria and Ebola.
Due to the extreme poverty faced by the area, the childcare centers are often underfunded and in need of financial support. In addition to my time spent volunteering, I would love to be able to provide these childcare centers with financial support and/or much needed school-related items.
I'm sure if each of us contributed by a small gesture, we can make a great impact and improve the lives of many people and children.

Mi chiamo Alessandro Reali e mi trovo attualmente in Africa, vicino a Kampala (Uganda), per un’esperienza di volontariato con un’organizzazione no-profit chiamata IVHQ.
Sto lavorando con lo staff locale per aiutare i bambini a raggiungere abilità nello sviluppo sociale, nello sviluppo emotivo, nella comunicazione, nonché nella lettura, nella scrittura e nel calcolo. In particolare, lavoro anche con bambini con disabilità mentali e fisiche, al fine di fornire loro supporto sociale.
Sfortunatamente, l'Uganda ha un numero molto elevato di bambini che vivono in condizioni di povertà estrema, spesso orfani di uno o entrambi i genitori a causa dell'epidemia di HIV / AIDS, così come altre malattie come la malaria o l'Ebola. L'estrema povertà della zona costringe i centri di assistenza all'infanzia ad essere sottofinanziati. Oltre alla mia presenza fisica qui, mi piacerebbe poter donare al centro di assistenza all'infanzia in cui lavorerò denaro e/o oggetti per la scuola.
Sono sicuro che se ognuno di noi si impegnasse con un piccolo gesto, potremmo lasciare un grande segno e migliorare la vita di moltissime persone.
